A supportive psychoeducational group for adolescent girls who feel
isolated by their eating disorders. We will focus on problem solving
strategies to help adolescents move towards healthier eating habit
and healthier modes of self expression.
This is a psychoeducational group for older adolescents and young
adults (15-21) struggling with depression, urges to harm themselves
and severe relationship problems.
Targeting college aged adults. This supportive psychotherapy group
will focus on developing coping strategies for the transition that
occurs between high school and college and between living at home
with parents and living on one's own. The group's goals will include
healthy eating behavior and realistic weights.
A supportive psychotherapy group for adults with eating disorders
who want to focus on recovery. Goals include the exploration of
underlying emotional conflicts, sharing of problem solving and effective
coping strategies, developing realistic weight goals and a healthy
relationship to food. Ages 20 and up.
This is a group for people with eating disorders and their families,
friends and significant others. The group provides psychoeducational
information on anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder and addresses
the issues underlying the symptoms. In a supportive environment
questions are encouraged and methods of coping with loved ones are
discussed.
These groups will focus on exploring the roots and influences of
negative body image, confront obstacles towards positive body awareness
and work towards body acceptance.
This is a supportive psychotherapy group for men dealing with food
and weight issues. Goals include the exploration of underlying emotional
conflicts expressed by eating behaviors, sharing of problem solving
and effective coping strategies and improved interpersonal communications.
This is a supportive psychotherapy group for individuals who have
had gastric bypass surgery and are struggling with emotional issues.
The group will focus on building self-esteem, overcoming emotional
eating, developing a healthy body image, coping with depression,
having supportive and positive interpersonal relations and more.
