Shonna M. Pope, L.C.S.W. is a licensed clinical social worker
with her masters degree in social services from Bryn Mawr
college. She is currently working in private practice at the Growth
and Recovery Center providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples
and groups. Her focus in psychotherapy is to guide clients to embrace
challenges as opportunities for growth. Through counseling clients
to seek their truth, she holds the relationship as a source of healing
and empowerment.
Shonna has worked extensively with womens issues and has
specialized in the treatment of eating disorders since 1990. Through
her training and employment with the Renfrew Center (the first residential
facility in the country to specialize in the treatment of eating
disorders), Ms. Pope has gained knowledge on the various interpersonal,
cultural and familial issues that underlie eating disorders.
She is currently leading groups at The Growth and Recovery Center
for women who struggle with binge eating disorder and for individuals
who have had gastric bypass surgery and are coping and adjusting
to the life change.
Other areas of specialty are voice dialogue, stress management,
grief counseling and energy work.
