Charlotte S. Joelsson, L.C.S.W.

Charlotte Joelsson, L.C.S.W., is a graduate of The Catholic University of America. Ms. Joelsson received advanced training in the treatment of eating disorders at the Growth and Recovery Center. As a private practitioner at the Growth and Recovery Center, Ms. Joelsson provides psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy for adults, adolescents and couples. In addition, Ms. Joelsson facilitates therapy groups, and is currently leading a post Gastric Bypass Support Group for adults.

Ms. Joelsson has worked in a variety of clinical settings, such as working with pregnant teenagers and in domestic violence prevention programs. Furthermore, Ms. Joelsson’s background includes extensive research in the area of pregnancy and eating disorders. Ms. Joelsson maintains a special interest in women’s issues, food related difficulties, body image, and eating disorders and pregnancy complications. Beyond working with clients suffering from eating disorder related symptoms, Ms. Joelsson enjoys working with adolescents, adults and couples who find it difficult coping with issues associated with life circumstances such as unemployment, depression, anxiety or poor communication skills.
